87 %of Android devices are susceptible to security holes

A new research study published by the British University of Cambridge suggests that 87 percent of Android devices are susceptible to security holes, and must be on some operating system Android hardware makers make more effort to protect the owners of smart phones from the old security gaps.
The study clarified that 90% of the operating system Android devices have been exposed to the actual risk due to hardware manufacturers failed to provide them with updates.

The face of consumers, organizations and companies that rely on Android devices is a common problem when measuring and evaluating the performance of the devices in terms of security and lack of knowledge of any of the manufacturers will supply the organs of security updates and upgrades of device after the Google put them to fill a gap that.

The report pointed out that there are inconsistencies in information between manufacturers, in addition to the absence of any guarantees to consumers about the possibility of the company sends security updates for their devices and when that will happen, as corporate users do not provide clarification on the status of their servers from a security standpoint.

The study is based on information collected from about 20,000 Android device, and provided an analysis of the application devices have been installed to participate in the study, many of the information devices.

The installer application indicates that 87% of Android devices have been exposed to infection security loopholes at least once because of the presence of 11 security vulnerability exists in the Android system in the past five years, including the TowelRoot and FakeID.

The researchers found that Android devices do not receive, on average, only one update during the whole year, said one of the researchers to the sense of competent security communities concerned about the lack of Android devices for updates.

The researchers hope their work to serve the consumers' awareness and dissemination of studies so that they choose their current and future thoughtfully and is compatible with the companies that issue constant security updates.

The researchers found that Google and LG and Motorola devices excel much in terms of access to security updates on Samsung devices and HTC and Asus.

The researchers put the results of each manufacturing company to illustrate how the evaluation, according to the ratio of free hardware security vulnerabilities known and the proportion of the updated devices to the latest version of the system and the number of security vulnerabilities that the company does not repaired within the organs.

It recorded Nexus devices from Google's result of 5.2 of 10, followed by LG 4.0 score of 10 and followed by Motorola's 3.1 score of 10, while Samsung devices recorded as a result of 2.7 out of 10, followed by Sony, HTC and Asus.

According to the researchers, the study was funded in part by Google Inc., in order to deploy the security concept and security updates for the operating system Android devices.
